Linda's Music Bio Print

Linda plays fluteLinda began her music studies with private piano lessons as a third-grader. When she was in sixth grade, the elementary school band director presented a demonstration of the instruments available for students who were interested in band. On that day, she fell in love with the flute, and she has been playing the instrument ever since.

She received her bachelor's degree in music (Bachelor of Music, Music Therapy) from the University of Georgia, before going on to receive her Master of Social Work degree from the same institution.

Linda was a student in Eleanor Lawrence's flute master classes on Cape Cod. She plays flute in the Central Pennsylvania Symphony and is a member of the National Flute Association. She also plays with Gary Grobman as the Grobman Flute Duo.

In August 2007, Linda entered the Music for Healing and Transition Program (MHTP) training program. MHTP trains musicians to play live therapeutic music at the bedside in hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, and other settings. She completed her internship at a nursing home and a hospital in the Harrisburg, PA area as part of her training to become a Certified Music Practitioner (CMP). She graduated from this program in October 2008.
